Bella had two litters, click on the litter paw for the details and to see pictures of the pups and of them growing up. She was a lovely mum who despite her fun and active nature took her responsibilties very seriously. She hardly ever left them, fed them, and washed and polished them constantly, until they were fed up of being licked, as if a dirty puppy reflected badly upon her abilities as a parent, and she loved to play with them as they grew older. |

Bella was an irrepressible personality. She often exasperated and embarrassed us but also filled us with a magic bubbling laughter and love every time we looked at her. She had the flatcoats’ unfailing optimism in full measure. She exuded excitement and was a fountain of joy. She was a very balanced confident dog. I never saw her afraid of anything ever. She was friendly with everyone, people and dogs, welcoming all into the home. Never submissive but not needing to impose dominance. Any young canine upstart who may be overstepping the mark was silenced with a curl of the lip and a telepathic warning. If more people were like her or you could bottle her essence the world would be a better place. |
